O’Divine Bean Curd Rolls Now Available in the UK!

These light, fried beancurd rolls change completely when they meet hot soup. Their crisp layers soften and soak up the broth, giving you a juicy bite full of the flavour from the pot.

Known as xiang ling juan, or ringing bell rolls, they are made from thin layers of beancurd skin. Beancurd skin is used throughout Chinese cooking, with these rolled, fried versions especially suited to hotpot and steamboat.

Add them towards the end of cooking, following the instructions on the pack. They soften quickly, so you can put them in once the other ingredients are nearly ready.

They work with a mild mushroom broth, a savoury soup base or a spicier hotpot. The rolls take on the flavour around them, which makes them a useful addition to whichever broth you prefer.

For a simple noodle bowl, cook your noodles, vegetables and other ingredients first, then add a few rolls close to serving.

Put them on the table alongside mushrooms, greens and your other hotpot ingredients, and cook a few at a time.
