An airy cracker with savoury seafood-style seasoning and a chilli kick. Miaow Miaow Flame Cuttlefish gives the familiar Malaysian packet snack a Korean-inspired spicy flavour.

Miaow Miaow began as a family distribution business in Batu Pahat, Johor, in 1975, moving into snack manufacturing in 1989. Its range includes many of the crackers and small savoury snacks found in Malaysian neighbourhood shops.

The Flame version combines a light, crisp bite with sweetness and heat in the seasoning. It is a cracker snack with cuttlefish-style flavour, rather than a chewy dried seafood strip.

Open a bag with a cold drink or serve some beside instant noodles. Keep the crackers on a separate plate until you are ready to eat, so the steam and broth do not soften them.

They also make a good contrast in a mixed snack bowl with a milder rice cracker or a few nuts. That way you can move between the stronger seasoning and something simpler.
