Takao Japanese Shoyu Ramen Soup Base 230g

Japanese Shoyu Ramen At Home, Now In The UK

Shoyu ramen is one of Japan’s classic ramen styles, with roots in Tokyo, where a clear, soy sauce-seasoned broth became the city’s signature bowl in the early 20th century. Takao Shoyu Ramen Soup Base bottles that savoury soy flavour so you can make it at home.

In Japan, ramen is everyday comfort food, from tiny counter shops to late-night stalls. A bowl of shoyu ramen usually comes with springy noodles in a clear brown broth, topped with chashu pork, a soft-boiled egg, bamboo shoots, nori and spring onion.

Making ramen broth from scratch can take hours of simmering, which is why a good concentrated soup base is a home cook’s shortcut to a rich, umami-packed bowl in minutes.

Whether you are recreating your favourite ramen shop bowl, making a quick noodle lunch, warming up on a cold night or seasoning soups and stir-fries, Takao Shoyu Ramen Soup Base is a must-have. Dilute with hot water as directed on the bottle. Comes in a 230g bottle.
