Foo pork bakkwa: sliced or minced, in 500g packs

Sweet, savoury and smoky, Foo Pork Bakkwa is Malaysian-style barbecued pork with a caramelised finish. Choose sliced pork for a firmer, more textured bite, or minced pork for a softer, more even texture. Both come in 500g packs, with the pieces individually vacuum sealed.

Choose the texture you enjoy

  • Sliced Pork: slices of pork with a more substantial chew, for those who enjoy a meatier bite.
  • Minced Pork: a smoother texture made from minced pork, with an even bite throughout each piece.

Bakkwa is a familiar part of Malaysian Chinese New Year visits, when a plate is passed around alongside tea and festive snacks. It is also an easy addition to a sandwich, a sharing board or a bowl of rice throughout the year.

Single packs and three-pack bundles

  • One pack: 500g of your chosen sliced or minced pork bakkwa.
  • Three packs: three separate 500g packs, giving you 1.5kg in total. Each bundle contains the same selected type.

The individual wrapping lets you open a few pieces at a time while keeping the remaining portions sealed. The current price for each pack or bundle is shown when you select your option.

Serving and storage

Enjoy straight from the pack, cut into small pieces for sharing or serve in a soft bread roll. If warming, remove all packaging and follow the label’s instructions. Store sealed in a cool, dry place; refrigerate opened portions in an airtight container and follow the pack’s use-by guidance.

The pork Bakkwa seems to be lacking some local Malaysian flavours but it's still good to eat. I could be wrong? Could the food be made in the UK but in Malaysian style?

The texture of the individually packed slices was great, chewy and full of bite. However I think it was too sweet and didn’t have any fragrance. Maybe I should toast it a little!
