Scallion oil noodles are Shanghai comfort food at its simplest: noodles tossed in fragrant oil that has had spring onions slowly fried in it until sweet and golden. Nothing else needed.

Boil the noodles, drain, stir the sachet through and it is done — glossy, deeply savoury and faster than ordering in. Add a fried egg or a handful of greens if you want it to be a proper meal.

How To Enjoy

Cook the noodles in boiling water until tender, drain well, then mix thoroughly with the sauce sachet while hot.
